I hope you all had a great weekend!

Vocabulary sentences will be due on Wednesday. The grammar packet and vocabulary assignment on Edmodo will be due on Thursday. Quizzes will be on Friday.

The Freedom Walkers test is tentatively scheduled for Thursday. This is an application type test where students will read and answer questions similar to those we've done in class on their own. To prepare, students can preread chapter 7 of Freedom Walkers and/or review the work on their packet questions.

Students with numbers 1-10 have their next reading response letters due this Friday.

MAP reports were sent home with students last Tuesday. Please check with your student if you did not receive his/her MAP report.

Conference letters were sent home in students' Friday folders. These sheets have your assigned date and time for Spring conferences. Please let me know if you did not receive your letter or if your assigned time does not work with your schedule.

I hope you had a great weekend!

This is a "normal" vocabulary and grammar week. Vocabulary sentences will be due on Tuesday. The vocabulary assignment on Edmodo and grammar packet will be due on Thursday. Quizzes will be on Friday.

Wednesday we have Global Play Day, which we will participate in from 2:30-3:25. Here is the link to the letter from Mrs. Wasik about Play Day. Please remember that kids can bring in games and things to do, but no electronics, please!

Thursday we have our field trip to see the play Freedom Riders. Our schedule will be a little different that day because of the timing of the play. Students will be eating lunch at 10:30 this day since we need to be on the busses at 11. We are aware that this is much earlier than normal, and encourage students to bring a snack for the afternoon. Please also remember that there will not be hot lunch available early that day and all students who did not pre-order a school sack lunch should bring a lunch from home.

Thursday will be our history test on Chapter 15, The Bill of Rights.

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching. If your student would like to distribute valentines, please be sure to include all students in our class in the distribution (there are 19 students). No food or edible items can be attached to valentines or passed out at school.

All 5th grade students will be taking the CogAT assessment as part of the district's assessment calendar. If you are able, please schedule student absences around this testing. Dryden 5th graders will be taking the subtests of the CogAT on the following dates:

Wednesday, February 7th @ 11:15 am
Wednesday, February 14th @ 11:15 am
Thursday, February 15th @1:15 pm
