On Tuesday we have our first Robert Crown presentation: The Science Behind Drugs and Prevention.
Student numbers 11-19 have a reading log due on Friday, 11/17. No one will have a reading log due the week we are off for Thanksgiving, so numbers 1-10 won't be due again until Friday, December 1st.
We are continuing our focus on fiction in reading, as well as moving through our Revolutionary War based novels. Student will be given an assignment for their novel as usual this week and should write down their due dates. Chapters and activities will be due the week we are back after Thanksgiving. Students will have plenty of time to work in class, but depending on how they focus, they may need to do some of the work outside of school.
This week will be a "normal" vocabulary and grammar week. Sentences will be due Tuesday, practice questions and grammar packets will be due Thursday, and our quizzes will be on Friday.
The Advanced Math class all received As on the Unit 4 test. To reward their awesomeness, we are watching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom after Thanksgiving break. I'll be sending home a permission slip that will need to be signed and returned.
After Thanksgiving we will switch back to social studies where we will continue to learn about the Revolutionary War and the set-up of our government. We will also continue some extension research projects to compliment our Earth in Space unit.
