We will have a normal spelling, grammar, and vocabulary week this week.
FREEDOM WALKERS-The test is tentatively scheduled for December 17. This will be an open-book test, where students will be asked to apply the skills (context clues, claim-evidence-reasoning, comparing texts, etc.) that we have been practicing throughout this unit. Students do not need to memorize any facts or details. They should review the sheets in their binders that they have been completing throughout the unit.
REMEMBER THE TITANS-You should have received a letter last week regarding our plans to view Remember the Titans as a class on January 4. This movie is a great culmination to our civil rights unit and gives the students a clear visual of the adversity many faced in the 1950s and 1960s. If you have concerns about your student viewing this film, please do not hesitate to let me know.
