The first social studies test is now history! The overall grades were good, although some were lower than we would have liked. There will be an opportunity to retest for a higher grade on Tuesday.
We will be starting our next lesson on the American Revolution on Monday. The children will be able to participate in a debate consisting of loyalists and patriots to close out this lesson. Small-group novels were started last week and all groups met except for one. I will be meeting with each group once a week to discuss the reading assignment and give the work for the next week. The books we're reading are: George Washington's Socks, Toliver's Secret, Chains, and My Brother Sam is Dead. The advanced math class will be having the Unit 1 test on Thursday. Please sign and return your child's Friday Folder/Test Folder. Please return the Naper Settlement permission slip and payment by Wednesday.
