- Miss Feck (Mrs. Eggert’s sister!) came to visit us this week to share about the Animal House
Shelter in Huntley. This year’s fifth grade service project will be supporting Animal House.
Next week, students will begin preparations for the collection; we’ll be collecting items for
Animal House the week of April 22nd.
- World of Work permission slips were sent home in students’ Friday folders last week.
Please return those permission slips as soon as possible. Be sure to indicate your child’s
preference for lunch that day on the form; the Jet's pizza lunch is free for any students who
would like to partake, so if you would like to change your student's lunch selection, let me know.
If you are able to chaperone, please let us know on the permission slip, as well.
If you’ve already turned in your slip but are now able to chaperone, please email me.
We’re in need of several more chaperones at this point. This field trip requires many
chaperones, so all available volunteers will be invited to chaperone.
- SD25 Middle Schools are kicking off their 2019 Summer Reading Program, "Reach For the Stars,"
this month. Current 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students are expected to read one book from
this year's list, but we are hoping students will choose to read several! Students will be
previewing the books and learning about the summer reading program on April 18 when
Mrs. O'Kelly from the South LMC visits their classrooms. You can take a look at the list
and find out more information here. Books can be purchased through SMS using this order form.
All forms are due to your home school's LMC by 5/1/2019 and books will be delivered to
students before summer break. Books can also be found at your public library or on Amazon.
