I hope you had a great weekend and that you stayed safe and warm in the snow. Thanks to Mrs. Murray for planning and leading our class party. Thanks also to Mrs. Krueger, and Mr. and Mrs. Altschuler for coming to lead activities during our Valentine's Day party.
Here are some updates for the week ahead:
Given the day off on Monday, the end of the trimester approaching, and still trying to play a little catch
up on other curriculum areas, we will not do vocabulary and grammar next week.
Students with numbers 1-12 have their next Vlog due on Friday, February 22. The directions,
topic choices, and rubric for assessing them can be found here.
We are now working through our science unit, Investigating Matter! We are doing many hands-on
activities and exploring the properties that make up solids, liquids, and gases.
Students brought home a permission slip for Remember the Titans in last week’s Friday folders.
If you have not already, please return this form as soon as possible. Please don’t hesitate to reach
out if you have any questions.
At the end of February, 5th Grade will have the annual Erin’s Law Presentations. These will be
given by our wonderful social worker, Mrs. Judy Thompson. Each 5th grade class is scheduled
sometime throughout the week of February 25th. If you would like any further information
about Erin’s Law, our district website has some resources you can explore.
We are planning for our parent / teacher conferences that will take place in March. This will be a
wonderful time to discuss your child’s progress so far this school year. Sibling conferences will be
scheduled back-to-back whenever possible. Conference dates and times are as follows:
Thursday, March 21 8:15 AM - 7:45 PM
Friday, March 22 8:15 AM - 11:45 AM
We strongly encourage you to schedule your conference on the dedicated dates listed above and
not on another date or time. Please use the form in the link below to indicate your conference time
preference by Friday, February 22. We ask that you complete one form for each child. A notice of
your child(ren)'s specific conference times will be sent home via backpack mail on Tuesday, March 5.
