As we’ll be wrapping up The Liberation of Gabriel King and working on our response to fiction papers this upcoming week, we will not be resuming our vocabulary and grammar routine quite yet.
Our class will be taking the Nonfiction Reading test on Monday, March 4th. Students have been preparing in class and have a study guide with some terms and ideas to be familiar with, but this is an application style test. They will be given nonfiction articles to read and will be applying their reading skills to these new texts.
Tuesday, March 5, students will be bringing home a letter with your assigned conference time. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are unable to make your scheduled time.
Students will be taking the unit test for Investigating Matter. Our class will be taking the test on Tuesday, March 5. We will be reviewing in class on Monday. Resources to review will be posted to Edmodo or can be found here.
The advanced math test on Unit 7 will be this Thursday.
Students will bring home a permission slip for the field trip to South Middle School in April. Please return your signed permission slip as soon as possible.
Vlogs for students (1-12) will be due on Friday, March 8. The directions, topic choices, and rubric for assessing them can be found here.
As a reminder, due to the additional days off from our winter weather, the district has pushed back the end of the trimester and sending report cards home by 1 week. Report cards will now be emailed to you on Friday, March 15th. This DOES NOT impact scheduled conferences or spring break, just when you get the progress report. :)
